Don't Fence Me In

There was supposed to be some farm animals in this painting, but all I could find to sketch were these two goats on the OUTside of the fence. My goat sketches were lacking so I left them out.
Well, maybe it is finished as it is. Maybe not.
For now it is Florida landscape with cabbage palms.
I know, such creative titles!

Black Bird Crow Tropical Abstract Painting

"SEVEN CROWS", (lucky number?),
that's what's in this painting although there were dozens in the tree!
This painting was done in multiple glazing layers so that one color shines through the next. Painting this way is very time consuming, so I don't get to use this technique as much as I'd like. This is one of the few that I have left like this. (It may be the only one.....)
In the future.....oops! Can't tell.....not that I am superstitious, but just in case!

Anyway, this painting is an original HUGE 24'x 30" x1.5"thick
I have it scheduled to begin auction on eBAy right after Christmas. the 26th in fact.
Stop by & place a bid..don't worry, there is a reserve on this work so you won't be obligated unless of course you meet the reserve! LOL!

"Merry Christmas & Happy Hanukkah!"

"FLAMINGO Art Bead sculpted in Polymer Clay"

Listed in the ArtByUs.com gallery is another Focal Art Bead with a hand painted Pink Flamingo! All my Art Beads are un-strung loose beads, so these will have to be made into jewelry by those who know how...
I personally just like collecting interesting rocks, shells, & lamp work beads just to look at so am adding my own polymer beads to that collection. so far I have avoided the buttons..though I do have a few interesting ones..
Anyway, check out Art By Us! Only self representing artists selling their own creations! Lots to see & buy!
"Merry Christmas!" & "Happy Hanukkah!"

Polymer Clay Tropical Focal Heart Art Bead / Pendant

Been using the clay to express my creative urges lately!
I've been sculpting "Art Eggs" and "Art Beads"!
I'll show the eggs as soon as I make one I like! LOL!
Here's one of the pendants...loose beads for another artist that
is skilled at properly stringing them....

Oh and by the way...for all you polymer clay artists out there,
you can list your designs at http://ArtByUs.com
for free! (I like to use an upgrade listing once in a while just to help them keep up the site. Plus you get extra exposure!)
It is a site just for artists, NO mass produced factory imports! Try them out!

Polymer Clay Art Doll from 2006 series.
He's about 5" sitting down. He took me about two weeks...I know, I'm slow! LOL! I really just like doing the faces/heads. Hmmmm...I wonder if there is a market for just the heads? The other photo is an Art Doll pendant.

Cat art cards for ANY SOLDIER

Finally finished with my care packages to Any Soldier .com !
This was a project from one of my art groups.
We were to send an original piece of art that could be easily
carried around. An art card, ATC / ACEO.
So I signed up for five...these are the ones I painted...
maybe they can give them to the little kids since I forgot to get beanie babies.....do they even still sell them?
Anyway, there are soldiers who get NO letters or packages from home so write to ANY SOLDIER and his/her commander will give your letter to one of their men who receive nothing.
If you would like to send a package, the items they need are listed on the web site along with instructions.
(the link is on the side bar).
You are not supposed to send toiletries in the same
box as food items so I sent a strictly food box; beef jerky, cashews, sour patch kids, gum, and two pairs of ankle high athletic socks....evidently for all the tax $$$ being spent in the name of the war our boys are doing without basic supplies.
Pathetic and Shameful but, with programs like these the American people are picking up the slack. Support our Troops & help bring them home NOW.

Old Florida Cracker House & Royal Poinciana Tree Painting!

I just finished this last week.
Love painting the "Old Florida" culture!
This is an 11x14 inch on canvas original painting.
Everything about a "cracker" house was efficient,
(the word for that escapes me right now). For instance,
the house was purposely built up off the ground.
It not only provided crawl space for the dog & chickens to escape the heat, but
there were spaces between the floor boards to provide
air circulation in an era of no air conditioners!
The shade cooled air would rise & help keep the house comfortable.
As for the bugs, (and we have many in this tropical clime) the chickens
foraging took care of this! Oh there is more that I cannot recall...
just google cracker house for more info!
And leave a comment if you know the word for a building that is
uh..er... ergonomically correct..sorta...that works with the geography instead of against it.......What IS that word?

Florida Sabal Palms Knife Painting

Working on my palette knife technique.
This one looks much better from further away so that's why the wall shot.

Earthier color ways than what I usually use... a change of pace.
What do you think? Feel free to leave a comment! ;)

It will be listed on eBay in September.

New Paintings! Key West Conch Houses!

Conch houses were constructed with a morter made from sand, water, and lime.
Lime was obtained by burning conch shells.
Thus the term "conch" house!

Collecting Original Art - A Key West Rooster!

Since I have starting painting I have amassed quite a collection of original art,
mostly mine but, also other artists that paint on paper/un-stretched canvas/illustration board, something flat so that I can file it in archival portfolios or photo albums! ( I know, run-on sentence!)
This is a great way to add to or start an Art Collection at an affordable level!
Some of my favorite artists only paint gigantic 3-6 ft paintings for $12,000.
I have neither the room or the pocket book for that!
You can always buy a print but sorry, prints just don't cut it once you've had the experience of owning an Original. Especially with textured work like mine.
Anyway, art enriches our lives & should be affordable for everyone!
I mean ya gotta start sometime right? ;)
By buying & collecting smaller works, it makes it easier for the average collector to buy his/her favorite artists!
Here are a few of my collections on paper & also one for sale at
http://KeRobinson.com or
you can alway check eBay for some amazing artists!

Florida Mermaid Tropical Folk Art

This painting was inspired by a huge mermaid outside a surf side grill!
she was weathered by hurricanes but, still there! And very HUMONGOUS!
Somewhere along the A1A highway north of Cocoa Beach. Maybe you've seen her?
I can't really remember the name of the place or what it looked like so, all I had to go on was my imagination since I didn't stop to photograph or sketch her!

St Patrick's Day - Irish Philosophy

Irish philosophy
In life, there are only two things to worry about...
either you are well or you are sick.
If you are well, there is nothing to worry about.
But, if you are sick there are only two things to worry about...
Either you will get well or you will die.
If you get well there is nothing to worry about.
But, if you die there are only two things to worry about...
Either you will go to Heaven or hell.
If you go to Heaven there is nothing to worry about.
And if you go to hell you will be so busy
shaking hands friends with all your friends you won't have time to worry!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Today is the opening of the Tulsa Gallery that is featuring my works! there is nothing to worry about! this painting sold just yesterday! Yippee!
but, not to worry...I have more!

Gato Montes Wild Cat (spoiled)

This post is just for a really delicious Cuban restaurant I found!
Real Cuban cuisine, not the American version. It is WPB, Fl. and the name is
"RICE & BEANS" or "CUBAN CAFE". Priced reasonably & authentic!
This is a cat from TheRobGalleryCATs! collection.....She was the most salsa looking painting I have at the moment. She has been sold though, not available for sale.
However, there are lots more cats & I am happy to take requests!
Just remembered, I have a piece with a Latin Flair! This one is still available! Click on the blog link to see my portfolio! Adios!

Ceremonial Peace Pipe

While filling the pipe,
a prayer would be said to each of the four directions;
as well as Mother Earth, Father Sky and the final offer to the Great Spirit.
A little tobacco was also spilled onto the ground to
signify giving back to Mother Earth.

St Patricks Day Irish Green Cat Painting

There once was a cat from Dunmore,
He was shamrock green goes the folklore;
He's luckier than finding a leprechaun,
Granting you magical wishes before he's gone!

St Patricks Day Irish Shamrock Cat Painting

An Old Irish Blessing

May those who love us, Love us;
and those who don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if he doesn't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles
so we'll know them by their limping!

The HIGHWAYMEN

Country Icons - FOLK ART
Continuing with the Highwaymen painting.

HIGHWAYMEN - an American Revolution!

KeRobinson - TheRobGallery
I'm going to try & show another WIP (work in progress).
That is if I can remember to stop painting and take a photo! ;)
I usually only stop when I'm stuck...& I am stuck!
I sketched from the DVD, "HIGHWAYMEN, an American Revolution" so, it was kind of hard...real hard! LOL!
(my son hooked up another electronic thing to the TV and now I haven't taken the time to learn all the new extra buttons so I can't pause it long enough to really see!) I like the old On/Off/Record/Pause! That's all I need. Four buttons! :)
Anyway, this is NOT supposed to be realism so all I am after is a similarity!
Dear Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, & Kris Kristofferson, hope I do you justice!
I plan on painting 5 of these, a group & then individuals so I guess it will depend on whether or not I am happy w/ the 1st one! If you want to have the completion delivered to your e-mail, just sign up for my newsletter (on blog & ebay "ME" page). Don't worry, I won't spam you, I have to spend all my extra time painting! and you can unsubscribe anytime..I don't want your 1st born! Been there done that, Movin' on! ;)

Primitive Outsider Doll

Thought I'd show one of my ODD-BALL characters.
Been working on this one for a while! She is made of cloth & painted with gesso for an antiqued, grungy look.
She still needs clothes. I'm using the material she is shown on so maybe you can sort of picture her dressed! I will post her completion well, upon completion! ;)
What do you think so far? Do you think there is a market for her?
