Santa Makes His Rounds

This is a work in progress. Always planning to paint an Old Florida Christmas every year, I am commiting myself on this blog and will video the process to show when it is completed!
So far I have rough sketched my vision, though it may change as I go along....

I've been sculpting Studio art beads. Here's one of them. So much fun to play with clay! These are all clay, no paints just different colors of clay! The holes are vertical. These will be listed at WildPelican.Etsy.com (there's a link on my blog).

Alice in Washington

by Ron Paul | Wednesday, September 24, 2008

Dear Friends,

Whenever a Great Bipartisan Consensus is announced, and a compliant media assures everyone that the wondrous actions of our wise leaders are being taken for our own good, you can know with absolute certainty that disaster is about to strike.

The events of the past week are no exception.

The bailout package that is about to be rammed down Congress' throat is not just economically foolish. It is downright sinister. It makes a mockery of our Constitution, which our leaders should never again bother pretending is still in effect. It promises the American people a never-ending nightmare of ever-greater debt liabilities they will have to shoulder. Two weeks ago, financial analyst Jim Rogers said the bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac made America more communist than China! "This is welfare for the rich," he said. "This is socialism for the rich. It's bailing out the financiers, the banks, the Wall Streeters."

That describes the current bailout package to a T. And we're being told it's unavoidable.

The claim that the market caused all this is so staggeringly foolish that only politicians and the media could pretend to believe it. But that has become the conventional wisdom, with the desired result that those responsible for the credit bubble and its predictable consequences - predictable, that is, to those who understand sound, Austrian economics - are being let off the hook. The Federal Reserve System is actually positioning itself as the savior, rather than the culprit, in this mess!

Florida Burrowing Baby Owls painting -keROBinson

The Florida Burrowing Owl Project includes a statewide population survey of the Florida Burrowing Owl, Athene cunicularia floridana, and on-going conservation efforts.
http://members.aol.com/pjbowen/owls.html

Helping with The Florida Burrowing Owl Project is simple. If you know of a Burrowing Owl site in Florida, send Pam an e-mail at PJBowen@aol.com with information about the site(s) including the county, nearest city or town, and location. For urban owls, include the street address or the address of the closest house. For rural owls, directions to the site are helpful; use landmarks like power poles (try to get a pole number), the number of fence posts from a gate or mileage from a known intersection to describe the location.
"BABY OWLS" 11"x14 inch Original Painting by KeROBinson.
This is just one of the many paintings from the BABY OWL SERIES.
I will try & get most of them photographed & uploaded to my website, http://TheRobGallery.com

"Peace Train" painting video

Wanting to do a "TROOPS HOME" painting as my main focus, this song came on as I was adding the details....."Peace" it fits.

And OMG! I received an email from You Tube, this is part of the email:

Your video is still live because UMG has authorized the use of this content on YouTube. As long as UMG has a claim on your video, they will receive public statistics about your video, such as number of views. Viewers may also see advertising on your video's page.

Well, they authorized it, so I guess I may leave it up.
I have not yet decided what to do with the painting....although the $ale will go to the troops.

The 1995 life-size painting -- "Benefits Supervisor Sleeping" -- fetched $33.6 million during bidding at Christie's auction house in New York. The previous record was for "Hanging Heart," a painting by Jeff Koons that sold for $23.5 million, said Rik Pike, a spokesman for Christie's.

October Surprise-2008 Election

This is like the 5th painting in my latest series "Cirque de la Nuit".
Lately I find my work influenced by current events, and so just going with it waiting to see where it takes my art.
You can see some of what I've finished so far at my website:
http://TheRobGallery.com (side link on my blog).
-----------------------------------------------------------------
An October surprise is American political jargon describing a news event with the potential to influence the outcome of an election, particularly one for the presidency. It is so called because Election Day in the U.S. is the Tuesday after the first Monday in November, and events shortly before the election have greater potential to swing votes. Most of the time, the term is used to label actions of a sitting president, especially with regard to military or foreign policy matters, but it can also apply to news stories unfavorable to the incumbent administration. "Historically, news outlets avoid investigative pieces critical of candidates within days of an election to avoid appearing partisan." [1] Particularly since the 1980 election, the term has been pre-emptively used to discredit late-campaign news by one side or the other.

"Sweet Dreams" Alice in Wonderland Painting demo

Every so often I add to my "ALICE IN WONDERLAND" series and here's the latest.
It's a mixed media collage meaning anything that's lying around within reaching distance gets glued on! :)
Not wanting to copy the the images created by the Disney artists, my Alice has a unique look. Keeping with the original classic, I left her hair brunette, but updated her coif! Also changed the Disney Artist's version of the blue dress white pinafore. I am still working on this...I change her ensemble each time I paint her! Mostly, the collection is ART TRADE CARDS, (ATC / ACEO) and 4x6" post card art, (OSWOA™). This painting is my 2nd one on canvas that I've finished. The first one was the Cheshire cat.
It's on ebay 3/11/08 and will be back in the website gallery if it doesn't find a home.
Oh yea, click on the blue title above tho see a large photo of this. Sorry the image is so large, but it was the only way to show the images under the transparent layers. You really have to look close! Prints of all of the images embeded into this artwork will be included with this painting if purchased directly from TheRobGallery.com, a little "Thank You" to kick off your "ALICE" collection! :)

Foxtail Palm Tropical Painting

Just had to capture this while it had fruit!
Aren't they pretty? Bright, burnt orange about golf ball size!
Botanical name is Woodietia Bifurcata and I want to say it's indigenous to Madagascar, but I really can't remember.
Anyway, it's an 18x24" and for sale, $225.
Also, I made a video of it being painted, check it out!

Blue Macaw & Tropical Ginger Painting

This is actually a painting I did a few years ago, but I changed it a little and posted it for sale at my web site, The Rob Gallery .com
I am able to offer FREE Shipping from artwork bought from TheRobGallery.com since I don't have to pay the high eBay listing & final value fees.
BTW, I will not be listing on eBay for the week of the 13th (Feb.) to participate in the boycott regarding changes to fees & feedback. But, I will always try to keep something up at ABU.
http://ArtByUs.com is a great place to purchase ART directly from the Original Artsts without the B&M gallery markups!

homeless & foster care children in America

Our auction date is fast approaching!

The Icon International Foundation auction opens for bidding on January 16, 2008 at 8:00 Eastern Standard Time Time.

Our goal is to raise $100,000. through this auction to further our planned long term efforts to save the futures of as many of the 1000,000. homeless children and 500,000. foster care children in our country. We need everyone's support!

We have a standard format at cMarket that we must follow. Also, we came to realize that we needed to add an additional sum to the artist's quoted price in order to cover our expense to be incurred upon the sale of each respective item. This has definitely been a learning experience for us.

Press Releases have gone out to all major and most secondary news papers regarding the Jan. 16th auction. With each auction our buyer response will increase, as our activity in this will become more and more widely known.

Besides our efforts to acquire corporate and foundation donations and grants, we intend our auctions to be a permanent on-going part of our fund raising programs.

Our second auction will begin early March. Please let us know in advance if you wish to participate.

You cannot know how much you are appreciated by Icon management. We consider each and every person involved in these auctions to be a valued member of our Group who is adding their personal efforts to Icon's cause to save the futures of these hundreds of thousands of our children. Please consider yourself one of us, and feel free to communicate your thoughts.

We have the ability to add new items to our catalog prior to and during every auction. Check back often to see what's new. Feel free to place a Watch on your favorites, so that you'll know as soon as bidding begins!

Trying to come up with a New Year's Resolution.
hmmmm.... blog more consistently?
